Department of Homeland Security U.S. Customs and Border Protection Chooses MicroPact to Computerize Workers' Comp Claims
MicroPact's entellitrak Workers' Comp (WC) Edition helps cut costs by providing online filing, centralized processing, and excellent management of stats and reporting.
HERNDON, VA - January 8, 2008 -- MicroPact Inc., www.micropact.com of Herndon, VA, announced today that U.S. Customs and Border Protection, a division of the Department of Homeland Security, has chosen MicroPact's entellitrak Workers' Comp (WC) Edition to replace their paper/pencil spreadsheets with a centralized, computerized system.
In choosing a new system, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection considered systems that other government offices were using as well as outside vendors, including MicroPact. Ultimately, they went with MicroPact's entellitrak WC Edition because of its features, flexibility, and its off-the-shelf design with easy customization that makes it ready to go to work immediately.
"MicroPact is pleased that the U.S. Customs and Border Protection has chosen to replace their current methods with entellitrak Workers' Comp Edition," says MicroPact's Growson Edwards. "The Workers Comp Edition cuts claims processing time to a fraction of what it takes to file and process a claim manually, using paper and spreadsheets."
With the new WC Edition, employees who are injured on the job can file claims online and have their managers approve the claims online. Once the claims are filed, they are sent simultaneously to the Labor Relations offices at both the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the Department of Labor.
Cut costs and improve customer service
The new entellitrak WC Edition will also enable CBP to compile and analyze statistics such as the average amount of time claims are taking to resolve, and how much it costs to process the average claim. In this way, the CBP can save money by knowing where they may be able to trim costs.
The entellitrak WC Edition will also help CBP to improve their customer service in several ways. First, the process of filing claims will be streamlined and instantaneous, and employees will know the claim has been received. Second, since the Labor Relations offices at both the CBP and the Department of Labor will have the claims immediately, they will be able to process them much more quickly, and to have instant access to them should questions arise.
