USDA Recognizes MicroPact as a Small Disadvantaged Business Contractor of the Year
MicroPact developed and delivered an online public comment collection tool for the agency overseeing America's dietary guidelines
HERNDON, VA -- June 18, 2009 -- When the Agriculture and Health and Human Services departments update the official Dietary Guidelines for Americans every five years, interest is intense.
Everyone from nutritionists to farmers has a stake in the outcome. Having a robust mechanism to electronically capture public comments was a government priority. So much so, during the fall of 2008 it prepared to launch a new revision process that would lead to guidelines printed in 2010.
The USDA's Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion, the agency tasked as the lead revision process administrator, hired MicroPact on August 8, 2008 to provide a Web-based comment collection tool.
