Introducing Chris Flores, Vice President of Global Alliances

Chris Flores has enjoyed many years with the MicroPact organization. Now that we are part of the Tyler Technologies family, he will be taking on a new challenge as Vice President of the Global Alliance partner program. We caught up with Chris to talk about his background and his vision for Global Alliances.

What is your background?

I spent 10 years in the travel industry, working with the largest travel marketing consortium. My role included sales, marketing, and partner relations with global brands like Royal Caribbean, Princess Cruises, Club Med, and MasterCard.

From there, I found my way to MicroPact, circa 2005. We were a small organization then, but very ambitious: focused and driven. We did some great things during my two years, like launch entellitrak. And I was fortunate enough to be surrounded by some great people who all chipped in to help me sell the first instance of entellitrak within the federal space, just three months after its official release.

In 2007, I returned to the travel industry. While there, I grew my program while also leading an effort to create a marketing consortium, establishing new relationships with brands within other industry segments—something that was unthinkable for some within the industry. Over the course of several months, the team established agreements with global brands like Carnival Cruise Lines, Norwegian Cruise Lines, and Starwood Hotels and Resorts (now Marriott International). It was fun – very fun. I learned a lot about building relationships with other organizations, for everybody’s benefit.

Describe your career path at MicroPact. What have you been doing and how does it influence your new role?

Since my return in 2014, I have worked on initiatives including growing the Human Capital Portfolio business and building our presence in overall Application Development. In 2017, I took on a Director role and was the lead on rolling out our turnkey SaaS solutions to the market. And then earlier this year, I began leading the Human Capital Portfolio as the Senior Director.

My time supporting these efforts has given me invaluable insight into the business, and shown me the value of working alongside our Global Alliance Managers and Partners on mutually beneficial opportunities. In fact, over the year, 40% of the Human Capital Portfolio opportunities and revenue generated were Partner-led. We saw significant growth year-over-year – 20% and 30% respectively

What are you most looking forward to in your new role?

I really look forward to getting to know and to working with our Partner community more closely. My predecessors did an outstanding job establishing an exceptional program, and I’m excited at the opportunity to build on to what’s already in place to introduce new, innovative offerings and experiences for our Partners.

I’d be remiss not to acknowledge our Global Alliance Managers (GAMs). The trajectory of the Global Alliance program over the past 2 years has been tremendous, and a lot of credit goes to our GAMs; they’re amazing. They’re committed to supporting our Partners and our sales team, and do an incredible job working cross-functionally from within

What are the biggest opportunities you see for the Global Alliance Program moving forward?

There are many, which is why I am so excited about this year. Specifically, I see opportunity in Partner onboarding: getting partners trained, encouraging them to take advantage of their complimentary training seats for certifications, and from there, fully using their PaaS developer sandbox environment.

I also see opportunity in equipping our Partners with the means to provide client and prospect proofs-of-concept. This will help to strengthen their position as a Partner to the client through the showing of a viable solution on our entellitrak platform while significantly reducing risks at pre-procurement. Our Global Alliance program is set up so that Partners can truly showcase their core competencies.

Additionally, the Tyler integration is something our Partner Community should be excited about. Our Partners will benefit from organizational synergies, internal partnering, and co-branding, as well as Tyler’s overall position in the software market.

What do you do in your time away from the office?

I like to spend my time with my son and girlfriend. In the Spring and Fall a lot of my time is on the soccer field, watching my son train and play for his club team. I’ve played soccer my entire life, so it brings me an indescribable joy to watch him play the sport that has brought me so much, and has contributed to my professional successes in working with teams.

I also enjoy traveling with my girlfriend, spending time with my parents, and playing a few rounds of golf when I can. I also like to spend time with friends, binge watch an Amazon Prime or Netflix series with my son and/or girlfriend, and watch Premier League soccer and my alma maters (West Virginia and Auburn) in football, basketball…just about any sport they compete in.
