The Alternatives to Opioids Act of 2018 was signed into Illinois law in August 2018, providing regulated access to medical cannabis instead of opioids for qualified patients.
To administer the Opioid Alternative Pilot Program, the Illinois Department of Public Health uses the entellitrak-based Illinois Cannabis Tracking System (ICTS).
